What AgriView does

AgriView is a set of image-analysis tools for row-crop agriculture. Each one works the same way: photograph the crop or a prepared sample with a phone or tablet, crop the image to the part that matters, and the tool returns an estimate. The tools are free and run in a browser, so there is nothing to install in the field.

The estimates are model predictions made from a photograph, not measurements. Treat them as one input to a decision, alongside scouting, sampling, and your own judgment.

Cotton Yield Estimation

Predicts cotton yield from a photograph of defoliated cotton taken shortly before harvest, from about head or shoulder height, standing in the field or from the cab.

PodProbe: Peanut Maturity

Estimates peanut pod maturity from a photograph of pod-blasted peanuts. Pressure-wash the sample, towel it dry, and spread it on a high-contrast background before photographing; letting the pod surface air-dry changes the colors the model relies on.

PeanutScout: Leaf Diagnostics

Predicts symptoms of disease, pesticide injury, and nutrient deficiency from a photograph of a peanut leaf, cropped to a single symptomatic leaflet.

Peanut Yield Estimation

Predicts peanut yield from a top-down photograph of inverted, windrowed peanuts, cropped to a segment of a single windrow. Trained on runner and virginia type peanuts.

Who built these

AgriView was developed by the Clemson University Center for Agricultural Technology (CU-CAT) in collaboration with the University of Georgia’s Bugwood Institute. Funding support came from the South Carolina Cotton Board, the National Peanut Board, and the South Carolina Peanut Board — commodity checkoff dollars put to work for the growers who contributed them. Each tool page credits the individuals who built it.
